Monday: We went shopping at ross and me and my comp found a sick green bay hoodie that we both had to buy. My comp cooked us a chicken alfredo from scratch which was actually pretty good.
Tuesday: Today was just a really chill day. We had 2 lesson that went really good, and we were able to find a new person.
Wednesday: We had zone conference, so we drove about an hour to green bay for that. It was really good! They announced that the North and South Milwaukee zones are now allowed to drive to the Chicago temple for there pday if they want. Im hoping I'll serve over there eventually so I can go for that. We did an exchange to, and me and my MTC comp (Elder McEuen) had to go together because only 2 of the elders have a license right now. It was so fun. We had a lesson with a family who is on date to be baptized and we had to teach them the 3 most important principals. If you know you know. Let me just remind you that me and this elder are only 2 weeks into our mission. The lesson still went really good, but thankfully we had some members there to help us when we needed it. During the lesson the dad told us a cool experience that he had. He said he has just been feeling overwhelmed the past week, but then randomly got a text from some random thing basically telling him that everything would be okay. He screenshot the text and made it his phone background. I literally thought that this dad just got a text from the Holy Ghost when he told us. The Lord really does work in mysterious ways. We also made some delicious brownies back at my apartment, and ate almost all of them. I didn't sleep well that night.
Thursday: Me and elder mceuen had 2 lessons we got to teach. We were gonna have 3 lessons, but one fell through, so a member took us to a chinese buffet. It was pretty good. We also did some service at a thrift store.
Friday: We drove to Pembine MI, which is about an hour away to end our exchanges. Little did we know that they gave us the wrong address, and that we were supposed to meet in Powers MI, which is about an hour in the east direction. We got it all figured out though. It was kinda funny, but it also sucked. I was so tired from driving all day, but it was okay because we got subway on our way home. We knocked some doors after a lesson fell through. We prayed before that we would at least find one interested person. Out of 18 houses, only 1 was interested. So our prayers were answered.
Saturday: We had a lesson with a guy who we've been teaching for a while and he's on date for baptism. We were reviewing the baptism interview questions, and when we got to the word of wisdom, he admitted that he's been having problems with it for a while. It was hard for him to do it, but we could see the spirit work with him and help him as he told us. His honestly really helped us to know that he wants to change and become more like Jesus. It was incredible to see.
Sunday: I got to bless the water for sacrament. It was awesome to be able to do that again. For sunday night devo, I got to do the standards training. It was on standard 7.5.1. In the devo, there were 4 missionaries going home, so they all shared there testimonies and they were all so strong. Im excited for mine to grow these next year's.
Spiritual Thought: We studied in Jacob 5 for the devo, and it actually was good because now I can understand that chapter a lot better. Jacob 5:75 says "And blessed art thou; for because ye have been diligent in laboring with me in my vineyard, and have kept my commandments, and have brought unto me again the natural fruit, that my vineyard is no more corrupted, and the bad is cast away, behold ye shall have joy with me because of the fruit of my vineyard." Its important that we are diligent in the work that we do, whether it's missionary work or not. We will be more joyous in our lives as we keep the commandments.
