Week 4

Hello everyone!!! This week has been awesome. I've learned so much and my testimony has grown a bunch! One interesting thing is that every single day since I've got here, I have heard sirens of all kinds. Its a little scary, but it's okay.

Monday: We had district p day so we all got together as a district and had breakfast at the church. Then we went to the rec center and played basketball and tennis. It was super chill. Then the boys in the district went fishing. An elder in my district caught 2 salmon. They were HUGE!!

Tuesday: We did some service at a members thrift store. It was pretty chill. We had 2 great lessons today. One with a guy on date for baptism. Another, with one who is a new convert. There both so cool. There's a table in our apartment where people put stuff that they don't want anymore. Me and my comp found 2 boxes up deluxe mac n cheese. It was only expired by a few days, but it tasted fine.

Wednesday: Were teaching this guy named Kevin right now. He's super cool and loves having the missionaries over, but he doesn't believe in God and he needs everything to line up with science. It might take a little bit to get him to church, but we're working on it. We went to a members house for dinner. She made us some pretty fire enchiladas. We put a family of 4 on date too. It was awesome!

Thursday: We did more service at the same thrift store, but this time they gave us a bunch of tasty apples. We went to Culvers for my first time, but i was disappointed because there grill was down so I couldn't get a burger. I still got some cheese curds and a shake though.

Friday: We had 3 lessons today. One with a lady who really wants to get baptized, but she won't stop yapping so we can't even teach her anything. She's going through a really hard time though, so were kinda just helping her out in any way we can. Then because she talked for so long, she made us late for our next lesson with a really chill guy, who has been taught everything, but can't get baptized because of some addictions he has. Were trying to help him through it. Finally, in our last lesson, we taught a new couple who is very interested in Joseph Smith being in liberty jail. Every time we meet with her, she asked us to explain liberty jail again. She really wants to be baptized, but we kinda have to teach them more than just that.

Saturday : I was a bit worried going into Saturday, because we were supposedly meeting with a basher. My comp said if this meeting goes anything like the last one did, then we're gonna stop teaching him. We got there and he had made pancakes for us. So it started off really good. He is actually a really nice guy btw. Then we sat down to have our lesson, but he had some questions about our church. We answered the best we could, and we definitely roasted him in one of his questions. We left that 2 and a half hour meeting thinking that one day he might join our church. It was so awesome, and he has made so much progress.

Sunday: We had the primary program in our branch today and it was so cool. Me and my comp got to sing one of the songs about missionaries with the 6 kids in primary. I totally didn't forget the words to the song either 😅 We found this lady yesterday, and as we stood outside talking with her, and testifying of jesus, i could really feel the spirit evem though it was like 25 degrees outside. We had a devo with the zone, and my mission president announced that the North and South Milwaukee areas are now allowed to go to the temple in Chicago. So hopefully I'll get to go there eventually.

Weather Report: Freezing🥶!! The wind makes it ten times worse. And there is wind every single day. Our first snowfall was yesterday. It was very pretty.

Spiritual Thought:1 Nephi 8:21. "And I saw numberless concourses of people, many of whom were pressing forward, that they might obtain the path which led unto the tree by which I stood." In the devo on Sunday, they talked about the tree of life and the iron rod and what they represent. Like we know, Lehi stood next to the tree calling for his family to come and partake of the fruit. In this devo they really emphasized how important it was that Lehi did not leave the tree. He was being an example to his family on the way to go. He didn't leave the tree to go get them, because then he would get lost in the darkness. They talked about how after our missions it's important for us to stay by the tree, so our future families can be led to God's love in a much easier way. Rather than being in the darkness, and struggling to find there way back to the tree. So remember that once you have found the tree in your life, to never leave it's side.

I hope everyone is doing good!!
